A Second Generation LASIK Surgeon
It may surprise you to find out that Dr. Joshua Cohen is a second-generation ophthalmologist, making Cohen Laser & Vision Center a family affair. CLVC has now been serving Florida for over 30 years. In fact, Dr. Joshua Cohen's Dad did performed the LASIK procedure on Joshua at age 18, as a graduation present from high school.
Along the way to becoming one of Florida's most trusted eye surgeons, Dr. Joshua taught high school, went to medical school, and went to Harvard.
Dr. Joshua Cohen's Philosophy
Dr. Joshua Cohen discusses how he is motivated to strive for perfection, so that he can provide the best outcome for the patient who has put their trust in him. He also explains how rewarding it is when a newly operated-on LASIK patient is thrilled about being able to see so well, often at their routine follow-up appointment, within 24 hours of their procedure.
Do No Harm
Dr. Joshua Cohen also mentions how critical it is for him to "do no harm" to his patients. He points out that refractive surgery is usually elective surgery and therefore, the options and risks have to be weighed appropriately in light of this fact, and all possible outcomes must be fully explained to the patient.
